Guillermo Salinas Pliego began his business career in 1980 when he established Dataflux.
The company began as a business software and data processing venture which later became a distributor and manufacturer of microcomputer equipment.
Dataflux introduced the first microcomputers to Mexico such as: Elektra, Newmax, and PK.
Guillermo later secured distribution agreements with Apple, Compaq, HP, Unisys, and IBM, among others.
In time, Dataflux emerged as a leader in Mexico’s microcomputer industry.
In 1996, he established the “Mexican Institute of Computing” (Instituto Mexicano de Computación – IMCO).
IMCO later became CNCI University (Universidad CNCI – “Colegio Nacional de Cómputo e Inglés”).
In 2003, Salinas consolidated his companies under a holding company named ‘Avalanz’. During the same year, he also established the CNCI Foundation.
Guillermo Salinas Pliego is currently retired and resides abroad.
